President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, in his speech at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, said that his country stands for interdependence between this organization, the BRICS group and the Eurasian Economic Union.
He added: “The West, clinging to its waning dominance in a number of areas of economics and finance, is trying to restrain the development of countries that it dislikes and imposes cruel illegal sanctions against them. In order to effectively counter this case, Belarus is actively promoting the idea of integrated global development.”
“We constantly call for the creation of a grand Eurasian partnership with countries with which we already have close relations (China, India, Pakistan, Iran and our CIS partners), and we also call for the interdependence of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the BRICS Group and the Eurasian Economic Union “, – continued the President of Belarus.
The current summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held in the format of a videoconference with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Modi of India, President of Kazakhstan Kasem Zhomart Tokayev, President of China Xi Jinping, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Jabarov, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif, and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It is noteworthy that Belarus, Iran and Mongolia are participating in today’s meeting of the organization as observers.
