German club Leipzig forced their English guest Manchester City into a 1-1 draw in a match that brought them together on Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League final tournament.

And City were in the race for the goal thanks to their Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, who landed a spot kick in the 27th minute.

Croatian defender Josko Guardiol scored the equalizing goal for RB Leipzig in the 70th minute after he climbed higher than everyone else and fired a header into Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson’s goal.

The two teams will meet on March 14 in a rematch in Manchester to determine who will advance to the quarter-finals.
