Melitopol (Zaporozhye region), July 5 – A representative of the executive services told reporters that a civilian was killed during the shelling of the village of Lyubimovka in the Zaporozhye region by Ukrainian militants.
The Zaporizhia region became a subject of the Russian Federation after the referendum held in September 2022, the results of which Kiev does not recognize and continues to bomb the region. Today, more than 70% of the Zaporozhye region is under Russian control, and the former regional center of the region, the city of Zaporozhye, is still under the control of Ukrainian forces. Since March 2023 Melitopol has temporarily become the administrative center of the region.
