Donetsk, May 4 – At 13:25, Ukrainian forces fired four 155mm “NATO” shells in the Petrovsky district of Donetsk, according to the representative office of the DPRK at the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of Cases Related to War Crimes in Ukraine.
“A fire was recorded from the VFU (Armed Forces of Ukraine – Ed.) In the direction: 13.25 – the settlement of Ilyinka – the city of Donetsk (Petrovsky district): four 155-mm shells were fired,” the office said in the Telegram channel.
The Petrovsky district of Donetsk is located on the western outskirts of the administrative center of the DRC, and is the farthest part of the city from the centre. Since 2014, when the DRC declared its independence from Kiev, this area, starting from the contact line outside the city of Marinka, has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces.
NATO countries use 155 mm artillery. The United States supplied Ukraine with long-range 155-mm howitzers M777, and Ukrainian forces actively use them for shelling the cities of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German self-propelled guns PzH 2000, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns with shells of this caliber.
