He added in his Twitter tweet: “She was not met. She was completely ignored. She even had to leave China on a scheduled flight as an ordinary passenger. This made her very angry. It was amazing.”
Earlier, the Politico newspaper reported that the Chinese side received the President of the European Commission very coldly, and French President Emmanuel Macron – warmly.

The newspaper notes that the Chinese Minister of the Environment received the President of the European Commission, which is incommensurate with the status and position of von der Leyen.
According to the publication, the French president met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping several times, while Beijing decided to distance itself from von der Leyen as much as possible because of its typically anti-Chinese rhetoric.
