Petropavlovsk – Kamchatsky, June 9 – A 5.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Gulf of Kamchatka off the eastern coast of Kamchatka Island, and the shock was not felt in settlements, according to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“According to the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Services of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the seismic event occurred on the morning of June 9. Its magnitude was 5.2. The distance to the nearest settlement in the village of Ust-Kamchatsk is 120 kilometers. The source lies at a depth of 51.2 kilometers under the seabed,” the statement said. “.
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for the Kamchatka Territory, the earthquake was not felt in the settlements. Local residents have not applied for EDDS. There was no danger of a tsunami. There were no casualties or destruction.
