Ekaterinburg, April 27 – On Thursday, the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Alexander Korenkov, arrived in the Sverdlovsk region, where several fires broke out earlier, according to a the News Agency correspondent.
During the business trip, the minister will fly over the region with the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Yevgeny Kuivashev, and hold a meeting to provide assistance to the affected population.

Also, on Wednesday, a task force of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, headed by Deputy Minister of Emergency Management Ilya Denisov, arrived in the Sverdlovsk region to coordinate extinguishing large fires.
On Tuesday, several fires broke out in the settlements of the Sverdlovsk region. More than 40 houses, including 23 residential ones, were damaged by a fire in the village of Tyzhny, Makhnevsky District, and the fire was located on an area of 2.7 thousand square meters. In the village of Sosva, 120 buildings burned down, and two people died. The fire was located on an area of 9,000 square meters and affected 320 residents.
According to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, the ministry revealed four violations of mandatory fire safety requirements during an unscheduled field inspection in April in the Ural village of Sosva. The employees of the department issued an order to eliminate the violations, and those responsible were sentenced to administrative penalties.
A fire also broke out in the village of Visim, where dozens of houses caught fire. In total, more than 500 people and 138 pieces of equipment, including two fire trains and a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, took part in extinguishing the fires.
