US House Speaker Claims New Evidence of Joe Biden’s Involvement in Son’s Business in China
US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has announced that Republicans in Congress have obtained new evidence suggesting that Joe Biden, contrary to his assertions, was involved in his son Hunter’s business dealings in China.
The Alleged Deception by President Biden
During a news conference on Tuesday, McCarthy (R-Calif.) revealed that recent data indicates that “President Biden has once again misled the American people.”
According to McCarthy, when Joe Biden served as vice president in 2013, he traveled to China on the vice president’s plane, accompanied by his son Hunter Biden.
The Meeting with a Chinese Businessman
The Speaker of the US House of Representatives claims that Hunter joined his father on the trip to meet with Chinese businessman Jonathan Lee.
McCarthy further stated, “We recently discovered that when Biden ran for president, he assured the American public that his family never received money from China. However, we now know this was a falsehood. Today, we learned that Jonathan Lee sent two checks from Beijing to Hunter Biden, totaling $250,000. Do you know where these checks were sent? They were sent to Joe Biden’s residence.”
Contradictions and Confirmations
According to McCarthy, a lawyer for the Biden family previously affirmed that they had “never received money from this individual.” McCarthy now asserts, “The lawyer, of course, lied. We now know that Joe Biden not only had a connection with this individual but also wrote letters of recommendation to help his children get into college. So, the current president’s claim that they didn’t receive money from China was false. They did receive the money, and it went to Joe Biden, who was the vice president at the time.”
Obtaining Information from Banks
House Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) disclosed on September 26 that legislators obtained this information from bank representatives at their request.
