Peru Hit by 5.5 Magnitude Earthquake

The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center said in a statement today, Saturday, that an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was registered yesterday, Friday, in southern Peru.

The report indicates that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred 11 kilometers northwest of the city of Huarcant, which is home to about 4.6 thousand people.

The report indicated that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 2 km.

There have been no reports of casualties or property damage as a result of the aftershocks.
