Poll finds that most Americans do not support presidential runs by Biden and Trump

U.S. opinion poll results have shown that a majority of Americans reject the candidacies of incumbent President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

According to a poll conducted by the Associated Press in conjunction with the NORC Research Center, 73% of Americans in general and 52% of Democrats do not want Biden to run for president in 2024.

70% of Americans and 45% of Republicans opposed the re-election of Donald Trump.

At the same time, the majority of respondents agreed to support Biden or Trump in the upcoming elections if each of them is nominated by the Democratic and Republican parties.

And 41% of Democrats said they would support Biden if he won the party’s primary election, another 40% said they could support him, and 19% of Democrats refused to support him.

As for Donald Trump, 49% of Republicans said they would unequivocally support him, while 22% said they were likely to support him if he won the party primaries.

The survey was conducted from 13 to 17 April, it was attended by 1230 Americans over 18 years old. The error rate is estimated at 3.9%.
