Russia’s permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, confirmed that the possibility of imposing sanctions by the EU countries against the Russian company Rosatom is doubtful, since this will cause it serious damage.

In response to media reports that the European Union is discussing the possibility of imposing sanctions on the Russian state company Rosatom and how this move could affect the nuclear safety of state facilities in these countries, Ulyanov said: “I think it is too early to say about this issue.”

He added: “We must find out what kind of sanctions we are talking about against Rosatom, and only then evaluate their consequences.”

He continued: “In general, the possibility of imposing such sanctions looks somewhat doubtful, because it will greatly harm many EU member states, led by Hungary, Bulgaria and France.”
