Jake Sullivan, US President Joe Biden’s national security adviser, said the delegation that accompanied the president during his visit to Ukraine included only his closest advisers, a team of doctors and security personnel.

Sullivan told reporters today, Monday, that “the group that accompanied the president on the trip was very limited and included a small number of people, including his closest advisers, some medical personnel, a photographer and security personnel.”

In turn, the representative of the White House said that the US President’s visit to Kyiv was planned “to the smallest detail.”

Biden made an unannounced visit to Kyiv on Monday and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the visit, Biden said Ukraine would receive a new $500 million military aid package to be announced Tuesday that would include HIMARS missile launch systems.

Earlier, the White House said that the United States contacted Russia shortly before Biden’s visit to Ukraine to avoid accidents that could lead to conflict between the two nuclear states.
