The police statement stated that “the captain of the boat miraculously managed to save 3 girls, but seven of them tragically died in the turbulent waters of the river.” The accident was recorded near the city of Aboisso in Côte d’Ivoire, about 100 km east of Abidjan, the former capital of Côte d’Ivoire.
And local media indicated that the rescuers removed the bodies of seven girls, so the police began to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
