Former U.S. President Donald Trump has said that if re-elected as president, he would convene Russian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “on the same night” for a meeting to resolve the conflict.
Trump added during a speech to his supporters in Florida: “Literally the same night that I announce my victory, I will call two people: Putin and Zelensky. I’ll tell them: we need to meet. I guarantee that I can resolve this issue… and close the deal within 24 hours.”
On the other hand, Trump indicated that Kyiv’s continued financial support is delaying the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, expressing confidence in his ability to resolve the issue as president in just 24 hours.
Trump stressed that the conflict in Ukraine “needs to be resolved immediately.”
US President Joe Biden visited the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, during which he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the visit, Biden announced another shipment of critical equipment that Washington will provide to Kyiv, including artillery ammunition, anti-tank systems and air surveillance radars.
