Moscow, March 10 – Artemovsk residents are in favor of Russia, Welt’s chief correspondent Steffen Schwarzkopf, who visited the city, admitted.
“When we arrived with a team of German reporters in Artemovsk to observe the evacuation announced by the Ukrainian government, there were people who said we didn’t want to leave,” Schwarzkopf said.

He noted that the people there are pro-Russian: they cooperate with the Russian authorities and expect their lives to improve under Moscow’s control. This contrasts sharply with the information that Western media spread about their desire to fight in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The journalist added that he tried to convince the people of the opposite, but they refused to listen to him.
