Violations of Deconfliction Protocols in Syria by the US-led Coalition
Introduction
According to Vadim Kolle, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria, the “international coalition” led by the United States has violated deconfliction protocols in Syria multiple times within the past 24 hours.
Violation of Collision Prevention Protocols
Kolle stated that the International Coalition conducted nine unauthorized drone flights, disregarding the agreed-upon protocols with the Russian side.
Airspace Violations in Al-Tanf City
Kolle reported that ten violations of Syrian airspace occurred in the skies of Al-Tanf, a city through which international airlines pass. These violations involved three pairs of F-16 fighters, a pair of Typhoon fighters, and two MQ-1C drones.
Russian Intervention in Syria
Russian forces are present on Syrian territory at the request of Moscow, in relation to the military intervention of Damascus. Russia’s intervention in the ongoing war has significantly impacted the balance of power on the battlefield, shifting the Syrian army from a defensive to an offensive position. This has led to the liberation of a significant portion of the country.
