White House strategic communications coordinator John Kirby confirmed that Washington will not provide F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine at this time amid Poland’s decision to send its fighter jets to Ukraine.

Kirby told reporters today, Thursday, during another press conference: “This does not change our calculations regarding (delivery of) F-16s … This issue is currently not being considered, and statements from another country regarding the supply of fighter aircraft (to Kiev) won’t affect. It will not change our independent decision on this matter.”

It is noteworthy that Poland announced that it would deliver MiG-29 combat aircraft to Ukraine within 4 to 6 weeks.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said two days ago that Poland would deliver its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine over the next 4-6 weeks, but did not specify the number of aircraft that would be sent to Ukraine.
