Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov announced today, Wednesday, the arrival of the American Patriot air defense system in Ukraine.
“Today, our beautiful Ukrainian sky has become safer, because Patriot air defense systems have arrived in Ukraine,” the defense minister said on his Twitter page.
He added that Ukraine has been waiting for the air defense system since August 2021.
The German newspaper Der Spiegel reported that the transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine took place a few days ago.
On Tuesday, the German Cabinet announced the arrival in Ukraine of the US Patriot air defense system promised by the German government with its own missiles.
At the end of last month, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said that 65 Ukrainian soldiers completed training in the United States on Patriot air defense systems this week and returned to Europe.
